I began competing as a swimmer at age 5. My swimming career extended throughout my childhood during which I accomplished many things and continue to hold age group records. After graduating Western Kentucky University where I was a member of the university's collegiate swim team, I searched for something that would fill my desire for competition. This search led me to mountain biking and later to off-road triathlons. As an elite triathlete, off-road triathlons and the Xterra pro point series are my focus. When time allows, I also compete in road triathlons, road cycling, cyclocross and mountain biking events. Between training and racing, I manage to squeeze in a full time job as an Advanced Sleep Clinic Specialty Sales Manager and my family which includes my wife, Holly, daughter (3), Haley, and son (2), Tyler. I also coach several top amateur athletes, write for Side Tracked Magazine, present at clinics, head up my local triathlon team and will be opening up a triathlon shop with ex-swim champion Dan Powell, "Endurance Sports and Rec", which will be open in the fall of 2008
